Login to your account in the MT4 platform :

click on "File" and choose "Login to Trade Account" will open the login window, small window :

•   Login:  your account number 

•   Password:  your password that you created when you opened your trading account

•   Server:  your account server, provided by the broker 

 

To be sure that you are logged in , please check the Balance by clickining on "Trade" on the left corner on the bottom.

and you can check the Kb counting on the right corner on the bottom , if counting its mean you are loggrd in , if "invaled account" its mean something wrong with the login details , try again.

The platform is divided into 4 parts :

1 - Market Watch 

​

in the Meta Trader 4 Platform on the lift side you can find the Market Watch , it's shown the market prices live , symbol , Bid and Ask .

Symbol - the instument name 

Bid - Sell price 

Ask - Buy price 

the different between Sell price and Buy price called spread , commission you pay for the broker once you open the trade.

by clicking on the Market Watch right click and choose "Show All" you will open all instruments that provided by the broker .

2 - Chart Window :

​

In order to open chart window for any instrument , click right click on the Required instrument and choose "chart window".

There is 3 chart kinds you can use to watch the market :

• Candle Sticks - Recommended 

• Line Chart 

• Bar Chart

3 - Navigator 

​

here you will find logged in accounts (Demo , Real) , and to switch between the accounts , by clicking on "+ Accounts " 

Indicators that provided by the platform for market analysis , and Expert Advisors (Auto Trading) .

4 - Terminal :

​​

• Balance - deposit + closed positions (profits, losses) 

• Equity - your current balance + open trades 

• Margin - the used margin , each position you opening will use a margin 

• Free Margin - (Equity - used margin = free margin) , the remain equity that you can use to open more trades.

• Margin Level - percentage , your used margin according to your equity

• Trade - by clicking on "Trade" you will see the open positions and your balance.

• Exposure - your exposure in the market 

• History - the closed positions and all the activities in the account

How to open trades in the Meta Trader 4 Platform 

​

​  

Double click on the instument in the market watch will open the order window

​

  In the order window you can set the order details.

Symbol : choosen instrument

Volume :  position size - 1Lot = 100,000 

stop Loss : set a price to close the trade with loss

Take Profit : set a price to close the trade with profit

comment : ant comment , not requiered 

Type: Market Execution , instant open trade

then click "Sell by Market" or "Buy by Market"

if you click on SELL its mean that you go short and

will make profits if price go down.

if you click BUY its mean that you go long and will

make profits if price go up.

once you will open the trade click "OK" and your

position opened in the market .

Pending Orders :

​

​

​

​

Pending order is an order will open automatically

on the price you set, you just need to open the order

window and choose in the Type "pending order"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

then you need to choose one of the orders types:

​

buy stop - buy above the current price 

sell stop - sell below the current price 

buy limit - buybelow the current price 

sell limit - sell above the current price 

​

after you select the Type of the pending order , set

the price you want to open the trade on and click

"place"

​

How to close trades:

​

in the terminal on the bottom you will have all open

trades , click double click on the trade and will open

the order window and you can see there is "close"

under the "SELL" and "BUY" .

once you click on the close the trade will close and

the profits will adding to the balance .

Modify Order : 

​

​

after you will open the trade you can modify it and

add or change "STOP LOSS" or "TAKE PROFIT" 

click double click on the open trade in the terminal 

and you will get the order window , click on Type and

choose modify order .

​

​

here you can add or change the stop loss and take

profit , by writing the price or by clicking pn the

"cop as" to set the price on it.

​

stop loss or take profit you set must differ from

market price by at least "X" points .

​

there will be a minimum to set a prive differ from

market price , if you set less then the requiered , you

cannot modify the trade.

​
